What happened?
Manchester United canceled their Asia tour agenda to Jakarta following the bomb incident that happened at one of the hotel where the elite team were due to stay in. The match scheduled for July 20th has been highly anticipated by Indonesian MU fans since months before and has inspired t-shirt street vendors to make a massive production of MU T-shirts and Jersey. Affected by the blasts and the team cancelation, the vendors lost a big amount of money and was unable to gain prospective consumers who was suppose to buy their T-shirt on the day of the match.
What is BOLBAL?
How we turn it upside down
BOLBAL is a reproduction of a non-licensed MU T-shirt to help street vendors gain back their money. We buy the t-shirts from them and print #indonesiaunite logo on the reverse side of t-shirt to add new value of the unsold T-shirt so that now people can wear to help the others and at the same time showing that Indonesia people still can unite even in a bad situation.
The concept of BOLBAL.
Unlike the first bomb incident in JW Marriots on 2003, after having several attacks in the last few years, this last attacks did not cause people too be overwhelmed by the devastating terror. Indonesian people have learned how to overcome it, and even be more prepared and stronger in facing it. By wearing the BOLBAL T-shirt, we refer to a FLIP FLOP situation when we could be repeatedly attacked by devastating terror, fear, and failure but we can keep stand still. That we’re doing just fine as long as we’re united.

kalau rapih sih enggak, karena ini memang kaos recycle. Tapi pernah ada trend dimana kaos dipakai terbalik dgn jahitan di luar yang jadinya malah bisa keren 🙂 dan tentunya… unik, karena membuat kaos recycle ini jadi special.

Setuju sekali dengan pembuatan kaos tersebut tetapi alangkah lebih baik lagi kalau pembuatan kaos tersebut bukan hanya mengatasnamakan moment tetapi ada tindak lanjut yang lebih jauh dari sekedar “mengenang” saja dari suatu tragedi kemanusiaan.
Kita tahu bahwa akar dari kekerasan ini adalah pembodohan dan pemiskinan. Kalau kita tergerak sebagai kesatuan orang-orang yang cinta Indonesia, mari kita bantu dengan sedikit (kalau bisa banyak) membantu warga yang serba kekurangan. Contoh, sebagian dana dari hasil penjualan kaos tersebut bisa diberikan ke sekolah-sekolah yang sudah mau ambruk atau membantu mereka yang tidak mempunyai bangku-bangku sekolah sehingga ketika mendapatkan pendidikan pun mereka mendapatkan pendidikan yang maksimal.
Ini hanya sumbangan pemikiran saja agar kita tidak larut dalam suatu “eforia” kedukaan tetapi hanya bisa teriak dan teriak saja tanpa sebuah aksi yang maksimal.

In Indonesia, life gets harder by the day. The economical situation forces prices to rise, the lack of job vacancy against the rising population, the traffic that we have to go through everyday due to that population issue…
And to make things worst, we had to endure yet another bomb incident.
Despite how less shock Indonesian was to the incident after experiencing it for a few times, despite how we react to it by saying we are not afraid, some life was lost, and casualties occurred.
Bolbal is a movement to help some of those casualties, which are the street vendors who loses a great amount of capital due to the cancellation of a big match following the incident.
By supporting Bolbal, which is also a part of the IndonesiaUnite movement, You would be supporting our street vendors to rise up and face a new day, You would be showing how we could still care for others while living Your own hard earned life, You will be supporting a cause for the nation, a calling to unite against terror, a calling to show that there is still hope for human kind despite all the terrible things that happened
